Assault Weapons Ban II

In case anyone hasn't read the text of HR-1022 AWB II. This is the one McCarthy of New York came up with last year. I don't know what Mr. Obama & Co. will try to force upon us, but this might give you some idea.

Reading that, things don't look good...

However, Thanks for the link... I went and created and account and setup a ""Tracker"" to let me know about anything new reguarding firearms bills...

Keep in mind that sometimes the text of one bill is incorporated into another bill, and in those cases the original bill, as it would appear here, would seem to be abandoned. I did not see the M1a (Springfield) or the M14 on that list. Why would that be? I may plop down 3k on an LRB M-14 in January.

I would rather have a grandfathered in "illegal" weapon that would be worth 10x what I paid for it. Course i would only accept AU or AG on that trade.

`(37) Conversion Kit- The term `conversion kit' means any part or combination of parts designed and intended for use in converting a firearm into a semiautomatic assault weapon, and any combination of parts from which a semiautomatic assault weapon can be assembled if the parts are in the possession or under the control of a person.
So, the way I read this, parts kits will go away too.

buy em now and you will have nothing to worry about. buy about 1000 rounds too, and you will be set for life.

get a mossberg 500 tactical, a remington 700 tactical in .308 and a couple glocks and you will be in good shape.

while you're at it get 10 30 round clips for the ar-15, and 20 clips for the glocks, a bunch of shells for the mossberg and 1000 rounds for the remington 700.

Define R.I.N.O.: A Republican In Name Only.
Examples of the type of Republican covered under this definition are:
  • Rep. Mark Kirk [R-IL]
  • Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen [R-FL]
  • Rep. Michael Ferguson [R-NJ]
  • Rep. Christopher Shays [R-CT]
  • Rep. Michael Castle [R-DE]
These five supposed Republican are nothing more than jackasses in elephant's clothing. Rep. Mark Kirk has introduced a bill, H.R. 6257: Assault Weapons Ban Reauthorization Act of 2008, which would "reinstate the Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act." The bill has been co-sponsored by the other four jackasses listed above. All of them claim to be Republicans.
All of them need to leave the party.
Seriously.
Go.
We don't need your kind anymore. It is this kind of stuff that lost the Republican majority in Congress. No, not this particular issue, but the failure to adhere to Republican values in general. If you want to behave like a gun-grabbing Democrat, go sit on their side. It is better that the Republicans be in the minority, but true to conservative values than to be in the majority with no clear values at all.
http://www.allamericanblogger.com/wp...ocrat250px.jpgThe problem with gun violence isn't that law abiding citizens have access to assault weapons (whatever that means.) It's that criminals use them to commit crimes. Read that last sentence. Commit crimes is the key part of that sentence. Having these guns be illegal will not limit the criminal's access to them. It will only make them better armed than their victims.

Keep in mind that a 'Ban' does not prohibit ownership.......it prohibits manufacture and assembly of NEW Assault Weapons as defined by the legislation that passes.

With any luck, perhaps it'll be a bit more watered down and less harsh that currently written in Bill form.

Now on confiscation, that's a whole 'nother topic for debate. :bear_tongue:

With any luck, perhaps it'll be a bit more watered down and less harsh that currently written in Bill form.

Now on confiscation, that's a whole 'nother topic for debate. :bear_tongue:

That is true & a ban will have a expiration date like last time. Still it would be better to not have to go there....

Hopefully folks will speak up if only to contact their congressman or senator & say I am a voter & this is what I think of this.

I talked to a regional NRA Rep about this video. There's more to this story then what you see on the utube video. 99.9% of the NRA members believe high cap mags are part of the second amendment. Remember this is a press clip. Press clips are edited. The press is your enemy! This guy was a board member of the NRA. When he saw the clip he was amazed. He apoligized profusely. This video cost the gun world tons of money that would have helped your cause. Who do you think was behind it? This man would not have intentionally hurt the cause. Do not give the anti-gun people a bullet for their gun. Believing this clip verbatium will.
